Last Photowalk of 2012

Last Photowalk of 2012

30 Dec 2012 Sunday, we amazingly had a bit of sun shine in London. Yes, I know. Unbelievable!

What was good about this for photography is I had a good chance to capture some day time long exposures. I have been waiting for the right time for ages. Busy work life and other real life problems simply delayed my photo walk for purely dedicated long exposures. My 10 stop B+W ND filter was collecting dust on its box being left on its own. It was the day to enjoy it! I am happy to say I am glad that I got this filter! Even though it only leaves home few times a year.

First of all I love this 10 stop nd filter and same time I hate it. It is an amazing photographic tool but same time such a trouble maker! Get a bit of dust or worst some grease on it and it will annoy you more than a boring politician. Cleaning this filter is as difficult as refusing to have nice cup of coffee in the mornings.

So what I did was simply pulled it out of my bag, used it for some 50 shots and you guessed it right, it became dirty and I could not clean it on the field so it went back into my camera bag.

When I am out and about taking photos, If i come home with at least one good shot that is good enough to call this day a good one. If I have more than one good shot and had nice chat with some interesting people, this is an amazing day.

So I must say that now, I had a really good if not an amazing day.

Let me present you with two of my shots I have finished editing today. These photos were taken with

  • Nikon D800
  • Tokina 11-16 f2.8
  • B+W 77mm ND 3.0 Filter
